Do you remember our Soft Pretzel recipe from Alton Brown? We are still in love with it and we make it quite frequently. One night we used that easy recipe to make pretzel dogs. Now, there is no turning back. This recipe is so good.
Ingredients:
- soft pretzel recipe
- your favorite hot dog
Directions:
- Follow the directions for the soft pretzel recipe.
- Instead of shaping the pretzel after forming a dough rope, wrap the dough around your favorite hot dog.
- Proceed with the soft pretzel recipe. Boil and then bake.
- Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
Next time we have a late night with my girls and their friends I am going to let them make their own. I’ll have the dough ready to go. They can roll out the dough themselves and then wrap it around their hot dog. They will learn how to boil the pretzel dog briefly and then bake it. While it is baking we will make some mustard dipping sauces.
If you want to make a mustard pretzel dog, smother some mustard over the hot dog before wrapping with the dough.
