Color Me Rad 5K Recap

Last Saturday we ran the Color Me Rad 5K! My Little Chefs had been talking about it ALL week long. They were planning their clothes and telling everyone about it.

“Mom we need to wear a white shirt.”
“The race is on Saturday. It is going to be so much fun!”
“I can’t wait!”
Here we are before the race with our clean white shirts. Before it was our turn to start they handed out some fun beach balls to keep our Little Chefs busy. I was so happy for that because they were getting anxious to start!

My Little Chefs LOVED the race! The coloring stations broke up the run/walk. All we had to do is get to the next coloring station. That was doable and something to look forward to. Some of the color was dry and some was wet. It was the wet color that made us all scream because it was COLD water!
Color Me Rad gave us a free shirt as part of the registration, after cleaning ourselves up, most of the way that is, we had a fun shirt to wear for the rest of the day. In fact, Little Chef A HAD to wear that shirt Saturday and she HAD to wear it again on Monday so she could show all her friends! She came home from school and said one of her friends ran the Color Me Rad 5K as well. She was disappointed we did not see her friend within the masses of all the other runners! The race was sold out!

It was a great experience. This was our first 5K as a family and we LOVED it! My Little Chefs are already talking about doing it again!
In just a few days I am heading to the Breathing Space Retreat at Daybreak! I’m excited to meet so many other bloggers and discover new friends! We should all be colorless by then!

How fun! We're trying to find a 5k that allows strollers… Get my butt in shape and have a fun family activity!

This one did allow strollers but I did not want to wash it afterward so I used a backpack instead. That definitely was not easier during the race, only after!
