Blueberry Orange Surprise Smoothie

We were so excited when Chef Dad came home from work one day with a gift, and not just any gift…..the Blendtec!!

One of our favorite things to make with our breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and for snacks, and even for desserts are BlendTec SMOOTHIES!!! We love them! And how easy is it to give my Little Chefs a full serving of fruits and vegetables all in one yummy drink! And now with the Blendtec it seemed to me and my Little Chefs that our options are now endless.  There is a Blendtec smoothie recipe book, but my Little Chefs prefer to make up their own as we go.  So we are excited to share our adventure with you as we create new and delicious recipes. With Summer here – this is a perfect and refreshing snack for those hot summer days.

Our first adventure is our Blueberry Orange Surprise! (and yes, the Little Chefs even come up with these clever names!)

We first peeled the oranges with our little handy orange peeler. And can we also throw out a huge shout out to our Fox Run Orange Peeler, Set Of 2 that we LOVE!!! Peel it and segment it into a few pieces and throw them into the blender.

We then add some vanilla bean yogurt (Tillamook is our favorite), frozen blueberries and a banana. And then we always top it off with a handful of spinach and some ice.  We typically use fresh fruit, but when it is out of season, we will buy and use frozen fruits.  Then, one of the Little Chefs will push the preset button for Smoothies and done….Yummy!
