Beef Stroganoff

Who doesn’t like crock pot recipes? You throw everything in at breakfast, go throughout your day and when you are hungry for dinner it is waiting for you! When things get busy around my house I always think I should ONLY cook crock pot meals. No matter what happens at least part of the dinner is made. If we don’t have time to make the sides at least there is something instead of a drive through window! Still, it seems easier to push through to completion when the main part is done.
What I like best about this crock pot Beef Stroganoff recipe is the tangy sour cream and creamy cream cheese that is included at the very end. These two ingredients are vital! I have forgotten to include these ingredients at one time or another and it is no where near as good!
Slow Cooker recipes are perfect for the young. If you do not want to worry about heat this is the way to start. Little Chef D measured out the ingredients minus the sour cream and cream cheese.

Turn it on low after breakfast. When the house smells good you know it is dinner time. That means it is time to finally add in the sour cream and cream cheese.  Do NOT forget!  No matter how hungry the kids are add the two ingredients in.  Let it melt and incorporate. The color of the sauce will lighten significantly.

We love to serve it over rice but you can also serve it over hot egg noodles. I must not wait long enough after adding in the two key ingredients because we always see little white bits of cream cheese. Not to worry though, it tastes amazing. My Little Chefs drool over this recipe. I NEVER get complaints when this is made. In fact this is one of those super quick fast eating nights!  Little Chef D did a great job making this recipe. Very simple, even for the smallest ones.

I so love cooking in a crockpot but we don't eat beef. Think chicken would be an okay substitute?

I also love the crockpot and I find the kids like helping with it too. Great for the summer and not heating up the house! I think I should search your blog for more crockpot ideas!

I'm a huge fan of my crock pot and I love anything that I can make in it while I'm at work. I'd love if you shared this at Whatcha Whipped Up Wednesday.

I love crock pots. There is one night a week that it is the only way dinner is going to happen.

Shannon Milholland, I'd add paprika and take out the worcestershire sauce to make this with chicken.

Thanks for sharing another fabulous, simple recipe. Son #1 just got a job and will miss dinner from time to time. I'll add this dish to those days. PERFECT!

P.S. and I'm thankful for NO mushrooms 🙂

As my Little Chefs get older and we have more responsibilities I can see a need to have a regular crock pot night. I'm trying to plan ahead for that!

This reminds me of my first meal when I was I wee thing. I made chicken enchilada casserole in an electric skillet. Put all the ingredients in, mix them, and let them cook. I love it!
