As a parent I look forward to this day just as much as my kids look forward to their birthdays. Why not celebrate it just as much?! I have potty trained 4 kids so far. My son is my last one and I am SO excited. I decided that this time around we are going to have a big potty training party. We are going to celebrate with ...

The Legend of the Tooth Ninja Book Review

When Little Chef Dad was growing up his mother told them stories about Sammy and Tommy. Sammy was always the bad child and Tommy was always the good. His mom would teach them life lessons such as sharing through these stories. Occasionally Little Chef Dad will tell Sammy and Tommy stories to our kids. What if these stories were written down and made into a book? I would have no problem retelling the stories that I do not know. We all tell stories to our kids whether it be at bedtime or ...

This week we are offering you a Labor Day BBQ Meal. My thoughtful sister got me a product I hadn't seen before wondering if it would be easy for the Little Chefs to use as a new way to make kabobs. Fire Wire Stainless Steel Flexible Grilling Skewer, Set of 4 is sold at Amazon as well as other online locations. With ...

Casserole Night With Country Crock #CountryCrockStars

Thank you Country Crock for sponsoring this post. With my Little Chefs, life tends to get a bit crazy.....especially at dinner time. Those are the times we pull out the casserole recipe cards. Casseroles are a fast, simple, and not to expensive way to feed our family. We love that we can toss the ingredients together and cook - this allows me to help my Little Chefs with homework, reading or just to play with them and have fun while dinner is cooking. Reasons we LOVE casseroles ...

Sponsored Post: Werther’s Sugar Free Candy

Thank you Werther's Original Sugar Free Candy for sponsoring this post. I think when it comes to a Sweet Tooth - my Little Chefs, and yes, I will admit myself as well - have a crazy Sweet Tooth!!  I recently have started to really pay attention to the amount of sugar My Little Chefs, and myself,  eat on a daily basis.  Maybe this came about because of our recent Dentist Appointments and also due to the fact that my sister-in-law was diagnosed with diabetes in her early 20's, she ...

Sponsored Post: California Pizza Stones Review & Giveaway

Our family started a familiar tradition of Friday night Family, Pizza & Movie night! We would typically order out pizza - because most of the time, once Friday rolls around, who wants to cook! But then we started to really enjoy making our own pizzas.  The Little Chefs LOVE to create their own pizza creations. So, Friday night became homemade pizza and movie night.  With all the pizzas we were making - I knew I needed to upgrade to a pizza stone! I looked around for a great ...

Sponsored Post – Chinet Bakeware

No more flimsy aluminum pans will be used at my house!!  These are amazing - they are disposable baking dishes that lets you take your food from oven to table to freezer to microwave, all in a non-stick pan. So, I don't need to worry about taking a meal or treat to a potluck or neighbor and worrying about loosing my favorite permanent pan (which seems to have happened quite a few times!).  And these pans look great, and pretty sturdy and they are just awesome! We made a recipe of Caramel ...

Aqua Chef Giveaway

As you know we watch a lot of cooking shows! We have seen Sous Vide cooking there so when we were given the opportunity to review the Aqua Chef we were very excited. The judges always comment how the food that was cooked with this method is so tender and perfectly cooked. We obtained the same results with the exception of salmon. For some reason that did not work for us-the taste and texture was very off. Right out of the box the Aqua Chef was a little overwhelming with all the parts. Once ...

$50 Bosch Gift Certificate Giveaway!

We had the opportunity to review a Bosch Universal Plus Mixer and Nutrimill. I have a wonderful whole wheat bread recipe that will be posted later that was perfect for this review because it uses both appliances. The Nutrimill takes a few minutes to set up the first time but after you become familiar with it, like all things, it gets easier and quicker. I would recommend an adult setting it up because the mess potential is huge! I can imagine flour all over and that would be a fun story ...

Orb Factory Review and Giveaway – Sticky Mosaics Twinkle Tiaras & Robots

Sponsored Post: Orb Factory, Sticky Mosaics Twinkle Tiaras & Robots     The Orb Factory sent us these fun Sticky Mosaics Kits for our Little Chefs to try. It was a Robot Riot! And Tiara Princess Party! We had so much fun! These were an easy-to-do activity, which was similar to a "color by numbers" craft.  We followed a simple number legend to peel and stick foam and jeweled tiles to create our mosaic masterpieces.         Each kit contained multiple Robots and Tiaras, so ...

Dr. Seuss Board Games Review

To continue with Celebrating Dr. Seuss Day, we have found another way to interact with the stories and books in a whole different way......board games related to the classic Dr Seuss books that we've all grown to love. Cat in the Hat I Can Do That! Board Game Can you spin around 4 times with the fish bowl between your knees? Or jump over the trick-a-ma-stick with the cake under your chin? In this game we were challenged to do crazy things with crazy props .          The Little ...

Sponsored Post: CuteZcute

I have seen the bento box excitement over the last year or two but I have not participated in that...until now...partly. I was approached by CuteZcute to review their product. They said this product was launched just a few months ago. When I went to their website I KNEW my Little Chefs would fall in love with this product immediately and I was right! I have spent more time creating with my youngest two Little Chefs who are not in school. Little Chef D thinks she is a master at making her own ...

Sponsored Post: Glade Expressions

I am a Bzz Agent. I was given the opportunity to try out and review the Glade Expressions® Collection - both the Glade Expressions® Fragrance Mist and the Glade Expressions® Oil Diffuser. I really liked the Oil Diffuser because of the look and how long the scent lasted; just over a month. I tried the Lavender & Juniper Berry. The funny thing is Little Chef D and H helped me pick out the scents. Actually they didn't let me choose, they chose! At home they helped me open the package ...

Have you ever heard of a Hoo-Rag? I hadn't either until I was contacted by the company to do a product review. A Hoo-Rag is a tubular bandana made from spandex. Because it is so stretchy it can be worn in many different ways. It can be a pony tail holder, a headband, a face mask and more. It is designed for indoor and outdoor sports activities for men and women. The fabric designs vary so don't worry men you won't be wearing anything girly...unless you really want to! Pantry Secrets Review and Giveaway

Who doesn't love the smell of fresh bread cooking in the oven?! Well, my Little Chefs LOVE homemade bread.  But there were a couple of problems. First, we rarely had the couple of hours it took to make the bread.  And second, we could never find a recipe that seemed to work -  too dry, too crumbly, too hard....you get the picture! We came across Pantry Secrets, they graciously sent us the basic starter kit and my chefs and I got to work.  First,  we  watched the instructional DVD, ...

Our crazy elementary school celebrated Halloween last Friday and are ignoring the holiday today and having a regular day. Good luck with that teachers! So many things to plan and prepare which I like to have done early in ...

Product Review: Hand Held Chopper

In my attempt to find easier tools for kids I pulled out my The Pampered Chef Cutting Edge Food Chopper for the first time when Little Chef A was making Chocolate Chip Walnut Cupcakes.  I bought it years ago, but rarely remember to pull it out. Walnuts needed to be cut. It is hard enough for me to keep nuts on the cutting board, piled just perfectly to chop them. I wasn't sure I wanted her to try it and hope she didn't get a finger!   After showing her how to pile the nuts ...
