Chocolate Pudding Cake

Have you ever been invited to a dinner party or had unexpected guests? I love this Chocolate Pudding Cake because the ingredients are in my pantry ALL the time. It is such an easy recipe to put together. The only hard part is waiting for an hour to cook.  If you are having fun with family or friends an hour goes by quickly!
This Chocolate Pudding Cake is one of our favorite food recipes for when we have unexpected guests. Desserts are always welcome by visitors, especially if they are staying for a while. This one smells delicious while you wait and talk.

This recipe requires two bowls; one for the cake portion and one for the pudding portion. Starting off with the cake mix together flour, baking powder, vanilla, cocoa, sugar, and milk. If you want to teach your Little Chefs how to level off when measuring this recipe is perfect! There is a lot of repetitive measuring and a little bit of stirring.

Spray pan well. Add the cake mixture and spread it out into all the corners. Sprinkle the pudding portion on top and very carefully spread it all over. In a preheated oven place the pan carefully on the rack then pour on top boiling water. It is easier this way instead of walking with water in a pan hoping you do not spill the boiling water on top of you!

Set the timer for 50 minutes. If you like the pudding really runny like I do you might want to pull it out. If you want it more set up let it cook a little longer.

I remember as a kid eating this out of a tall glass. The presentation is a lot better then just sitting on a plate. I need to get some of those! You can see the cake and pudding swirled together!

I like eating mine very warm while the pudding is still very gooey! My Little Chefs ALWAYS come back for seconds!

This Chocolate Pudding Cake is an easy recipe for Little Chefs of all ages. The only technical assistance required is putting the pan in and out of the oven and adding the boiling water.

This looks so delicious! And yes, even I have all those recipes on hand. I can't wait to try it…I think Father's Day might be an appropriate occasion, but then again what occasion isn't appropriate for such chocolate yumminess!

That looks wonderful. I think I will try it with coconut milk and coconut oil. So simple, yet fun!

Awe, I have been having my daughter bake something every week as apart of her 'therapy'. This will be a great recipe for her to try. Thank you! And those aprons are adorable!

That does look like a kid friendly "easy bake" recipe. I never have milk but I keep canned milk here. Do you think that would work? Otherwise I always have these ingredients too. Yummy that looks delicious. I think I would add a dollop of cool which just to make it look fancy 😉
