Top Posts of 2015

I always love reflecting back on the year. My family still has not slowed down a bit! We are going and going bouncing around to various activities mostly gymnastics, soccer and volleyball. Haley had another minor brain surgery (so much better then the first) but the results were not great so we have some decisions to make. Once again I learned brain tumors are not fun and I will be an advocate for her my entire life. But I get to learn so many new things that I never would have learned. I am SO ...

The Legend of the Tooth Ninja Book Review

When Little Chef Dad was growing up his mother told them stories about Sammy and Tommy. Sammy was always the bad child and Tommy was always the good. His mom would teach them life lessons such as sharing through these stories. Occasionally Little Chef Dad will tell Sammy and Tommy stories to our kids. What if these stories were written down and made into a book? I would have no problem retelling the stories that I do not know. We all tell stories to our kids whether it be at bedtime or ...

Discovering Utah: Ice Castles

I love to discover all the fun places Utah has to offer! We had an amazing opportunity to visit the Ice Castles in Midway, Utah. This year it is being built at the Soldier Hollow Resort located at 2002 Soldier Hollow Road, Midway, Utah, 84049. My Little Chefs were super excited when I told them we were going to visit. Little Chef H wasn't so sure what I was talking about so I pulled up the Ice Castles website and showed her what we would be seeing. That is when she couldn't stop askig if ...

I am sure all of you are familiar with Pom Wonderful Pomegranets - well, did you know that the Wonderful Brand also offers snacking nuts?!  We are always on the hunt for something new, something different, and even something a bit healthier for the Little Chefs - and myself for snacks. In the craziness and fun of summer - going to playdates, the beach or pool, swimming lessons, soccer, camping or traveling - we need snacks that are easy to grab on the go, and that will satisfy hungry ...

Casserole Night With Country Crock #CountryCrockStars

Thank you Country Crock for sponsoring this post. With my Little Chefs, life tends to get a bit crazy.....especially at dinner time. Those are the times we pull out the casserole recipe cards. Casseroles are a fast, simple, and not to expensive way to feed our family. We love that we can toss the ingredients together and cook - this allows me to help my Little Chefs with homework, reading or just to play with them and have fun while dinner is cooking. Reasons we LOVE casseroles ...

Sponsored Post: Werther’s Sugar Free Candy

Thank you Werther's Original Sugar Free Candy for sponsoring this post. I think when it comes to a Sweet Tooth - my Little Chefs, and yes, I will admit myself as well - have a crazy Sweet Tooth!!  I recently have started to really pay attention to the amount of sugar My Little Chefs, and myself,  eat on a daily basis.  Maybe this came about because of our recent Dentist Appointments and also due to the fact that my sister-in-law was diagnosed with diabetes in her early 20's, she ...

Orb Factory Review and Giveaway – Sticky Mosaics Twinkle Tiaras & Robots

Sponsored Post: Orb Factory, Sticky Mosaics Twinkle Tiaras & Robots     The Orb Factory sent us these fun Sticky Mosaics Kits for our Little Chefs to try. It was a Robot Riot! And Tiara Princess Party! We had so much fun! These were an easy-to-do activity, which was similar to a "color by numbers" craft.  We followed a simple number legend to peel and stick foam and jeweled tiles to create our mosaic masterpieces.         Each kit contained multiple Robots and Tiaras, so ...

Dr. Seuss Board Games Review

To continue with Celebrating Dr. Seuss Day, we have found another way to interact with the stories and books in a whole different way......board games related to the classic Dr Seuss books that we've all grown to love. Cat in the Hat I Can Do That! Board Game Can you spin around 4 times with the fish bowl between your knees? Or jump over the trick-a-ma-stick with the cake under your chin? In this game we were challenged to do crazy things with crazy props .          The Little ...

Chocolate Cake Anyone…..?!

Yes please!!! And what recipe do you ask is our favorite chocolate cake recipe?  It is the "Our Version of Nothing Bundt Chocolate Chip Cake" from the cookbook Favorite Family Recipes. It is simply delicious, and simply......simple!! We first added the cake mix, chocolate pudding, sour cream, eggs, water and oil and beat till well combined. My Little Chef B is so proud of himself that he is now able to crack and add the eggs with no help (and no shells)!       We stirred in ...

Sponsored Post: Glade Expressions

I am a Bzz Agent. I was given the opportunity to try out and review the Glade Expressions® Collection - both the Glade Expressions® Fragrance Mist and the Glade Expressions® Oil Diffuser. I really liked the Oil Diffuser because of the look and how long the scent lasted; just over a month. I tried the Lavender & Juniper Berry. The funny thing is Little Chef D and H helped me pick out the scents. Actually they didn't let me choose, they chose! At home they helped me open the package ...

Sponsored Post: Hoo-Rag

Have you ever heard of a Hoo-Rag? I hadn't either until I was contacted by the company to do a product review. A Hoo-Rag is a tubular bandana made from spandex. Because it is so stretchy it can be worn in many different ways. It can be a pony tail holder, a headband, a face mask and more. It is designed for indoor and outdoor sports activities for men and women. The fabric designs vary so don't worry men you won't be wearing anything girly...unless you really want to! I have found the ...

Hammond’s Candy Factory

We have been on vacation in Denver, CO for the past few days. Hamond's Candy Factory is one of the places we visited. We were able to go on a 30 minute tour to see how the candy is made. The Little Chef's eyes were opened and they were very excited to see anything they could. All the candy here is made by hand. They were making candy trees the afternoon we visited. We were able to watch part of the process.  The man in the orange made the candy from 3 basic ingredients. He is responsible for ...
