Summer Calendar
When spring hits I start to think ahead to school getting out and the beginning of summer. This year for me it is very different because we recently moved which meant a new school which unfortunately is a year round school. While some of my Little Chefs will still be in school I still have more Little Chefs at home who want to go out and do things. Summer is the best time when it is warm to do a lot of investigating of our local sites as well as road trips.

Teacher Appreciation – Pie Chart
Teacher Appreciation is in full swing at our school. The PTA sent out a schedule with what each student should bring/wear/do for that day. National Scrabble Day is this Saturday. Little Chef D is learning how to read. I thought it would be fun to turn reading into playing with food! I first showed her how we were going to play. Phases of the Moon
In addition to the Space Ship Craft - I thought it would be fun to teach my Little Chefs the different Phases of the Moon. Each night, especially in the summer time, they love to find the Moon - to see what "shape" it is.

Melted Crayon Eggs – Coloring Easter Eggs
Melted Crayon Eggs is a PERFECT way of coloring easter eggs quickly. In fact its a great way to color a lot of eggs at once. I just love easy crafts! Remember when Little Chef D enjoyed making her Butterfly Melted Crayon Art? We learned from that experience that grating crayons is a hard and long task if you do it by hand, but the result of melting the crayons is beautiful. We wanted to apply that technique to eggs.
