Countdown to Easter

Countdown to Easter with some fun activities! The excitement and anticipation my Little Chefs have the week leading up to any holiday seems uncontainable! They NEED to decorate the house even more, do more easter crafts, plan more activities….they love celebrating anything really. This Easter Countdown is a fun way to contain all that energy, at least a bit of it! If they know I will be doing something Easter related each day they will be super excited for that one activity and then use their energy on other things the rest of the day. The most important thing to remember is to do an Easter Countdown the 7 days leading up to Easter you need to start 8 days before Easter. You can always shorten or lengthen your countdown to fit your needs.countdown to easter

One of the activities listed is a jelly bean hunt. You might wonder why this activity. In my experience, with 4 Little Chefs, each one needed a little prep work prior to Easter. On the great day of the Easter Egg Hunt for the very first time my very young Little Chef was so confused. She did could barely walk and hold a basket at the same time let alone figure out what she should be doing. It was a lot of work and a lot of missed pictures telling her over here, pick it up, put it in your basket…over and over again. I have found that in the days following Easter my Little Chefs enjoy hiding the plastic eggs for each other as a game. Finally the youngest figures out what she should be doing…but it is too late. The jelly bean hunt is to give your Little Chefs a little practice so that when it is time for the Easter Egg Hunt they are a little more prepared and hopefully you can snap some wonderful pictures!countdown to easter printable

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Cut out each strip. Choose 7 activities that fit your situation, or make up your own activity. We have included two blank strips where you can write in your own activities if you desire.
  2. Fold each strip and place one in each egg. You should have 7 eggs. Countdown to easter
  3. Place all 7 eggs in a basket in your desired location.
  4. Each day, starting 8 days before Easter, open one egg and do the activity found inside.

Have fun counting down to the days to Easter! I know your Little Chefs will enjoy counting down the days just as much as mine will! Don’t forget the countdown to easter printable! Here it is again.

I am a mom to Five Little Chefs who love to cook and create anything with their hands. Watching over 10 additional hands keeps me busy but is so much fun! We laugh and cry everyday, but then want to do it again the next day. That is how we know we are enjoying life!

Another great activity to do with the little ones. Easter is such a nice time that we can share so many great things with kids.
