$50 Bosch Gift Certificate Giveaway!

We had the opportunity to review a Bosch Universal Plus Mixer and Nutrimill. I have a wonderful whole wheat bread recipe that will be posted later that was perfect for this review because it uses both appliances.

Bosch NutriMill Giveaway

The Nutrimill takes a few minutes to set up the first time but after you become familiar with it, like all things, it gets easier and quicker. I would recommend an adult setting it up because the mess potential is huge! I can imagine flour all over and that would be a fun story but not fun to clean up!

Little Chef A had a VERY easy time pouring in the wheat at the top and then waiting for the wheat to grind before she added more. We kept the top off so she could visually she what was going on. It was fun to check the bowl at the bottom where the wheat flour was caught. We did not have too much of a mess at the end. A little flour on the counter and wheat that was spilled before making it to the machine.

It was fun to watch, at the beginning, but it was time consuming. The wheat took longer to grind then I expected it would take. Little Chef A did not like the VERY loud noise the machine was making. Do not attempt to use this appliance with a sleeping child, or while watching tv or listening to music. This is a one task appliance. When you take the cover off the bowl that is catching the wheat flour that part makes a mess. Be very selective where you place it because there is a lot of excess flour on the lid and in the cup below.

The Bosch Universal Plus Mixer was very simple to use. I loved the dial verses a button, but maybe that is just my preference. Little Chef A had a VERY easy time turning the nob. As a mom who is either cleaning up or directing the clean up, I loved the splash guard on the top. We were adding a lot of flour and did not have a problem with it escaping. It was a tight fit and I was very pleased with it. Little Chef A had an easy time pouring all the ingredients in through the hole.

Overall I was very pleased with the ability the Little Chefs had with using both the Bosch Universal Plus Mixer and the Nutrimill. I do believe both are kid friendly but I would always recommend adult supervision.
